Conservatives take local ridings

Both Prince George-area MPs are returning to Ottawa.

In Cariboo-Prince George, Conservative Todd Doherty had a convincing lead, was sitting at a steady 50 per cent, while Liberal candidate Tracy Calogheros had 20 per cent support and Heather Sapergia of the NDP trailed at 16.9 per cent, with more than half of the polls reporting.

Mackenzie Kerr, Green party, was at 9.7 per cent followed by Jing Lan Yang, People's Party, was at 2.3 per cent, with Independent Michael Orr taking less than one per cent.

For Prince George-Peace River- Northern Rockies Conservative representative Bob Zimmer was consistently sitting at 75 per cent of the vote. Trailing significantly was Liberal Mavis Erickson at about 10 per cent, NDP Marcia Luccock at about 7 per cent, Catharine Kendall from the Green Party at five per cent and People's Party Ron Vaillant at about three percent.
