EAST PALESTINE, Ohio (WKBN) – East Palestine Village Council approved an ordinance to allow permits for liquor sales and consumption in East Palestine Park on Monday.

The ordinance only allows permits for events and does not permit individuals to bring alcohol into the park and drink.

Businesses and event holders must apply for the permits and liquor consumption will be restricted to a certain area. They must also have security at the events where alcohol will be consumed.

Village Manager Chad Edwards hopes it’ll bring more festivals, events and business to the village.

The ordinance will go into effect in 30 days.
