Turkey to actively participate in Iraq's rebuilding conf. in Kuwait - FM

BAGHDAD, Jan 21 (KUNA) -- Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Sunday Ankara would participate actively in an international conference for the reconstruction of Iraq, due in Kuwait next month.
Turkey will participate in Kuwait's conference and will have an active role, Cavusoglu was quoted by a statement from Iraq's foreign ministry during his meeting with his counterpart Ibrahim Jaafari.
Turkey, the current president of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), will exert further efforts to rally international support for Iraq, he said.
He added that Ankara would increase the number of Turkish companies in Iraq, and expand cooperation in energy, agriculture and livestock.
The Turkish Foreign Minister met earlier with Prime Minister Haidar Abadi and reaffirmed support to the country's unity and stability. (end) ahh.bs
