Hartwick joins Navient as VP

Navient named Paul Hartwick  vice president of corporate communications. He brings 25+ years of experience in communications, directing communications efforts for new financial product launches and leading public affairs related to many highly sensitive government and regulatory issues. 

He was  with JPMorgan Chase & Co. where since 2015 he was managing director, communications, leading external and internal communications, public relations and public affairs activities for Chase’s digital banking, auto finance, technology and operations.  From 2006 to 2015, he was senior vice president, communications, for Chase’s credit card and payment groups. [Not a valid template]

Hartwick also served in the U.S. Army Reserves for eight years, training in Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis and Fort Benning in Columbus, Georgia. He earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from St. Bonaventure University and a certificate of marketing strategy from Cornell University.

Belfint, Lyons & Shuman, P.A. (BLS) welcomed  Anthony (Tony) J. LaFratte, CPA as a Staff II Accountant in its  Rotational Development Program.

Prior to joining BLS, he gained three years of knowledge from a Big 4 CPA firm in Philadelphia and interned at a small, local firm in West Chester, Pennsylvania. LaFratte has both Audit and Tax experience and will assist all areas of our firm, including our Tax & Small Business, Accounting & Auditing, Corporate & International Services Departments. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

LaFratte earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Finance from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

Santora CPA Group names additions

Santora CPA Group announced the following additions to its team:

Riley M. Ballard, Paul J. Specht, Brandon T. Heggan, Anthony E. Apostolico, Kathryn M. Diseroad, and Jacob I. Musser will be joining the firm this summer as full-time Staff Accountants. All of these May 2018 University of Delaware graduates were previous summer interns with the firm.  Once on board, they will be providing auditing, accounting, and a variety of tax preparation services to the firm’s clients. 

Delaware Prosperity Partnership names business development director

Delaware Prosperity Partnership  announced that  Becky Harrington  joined as its new Director of Business Development.

Harrington, most recently with NAI Emory Hill Real Estate Services, Inc., has concentrated on commercial real estate since 2010. Previously, she was with Jacksonville, Florida’s economic development organization and has significant expertise in business recruitment and retention.  Harrington has worked extensively with site selectors, coordinated corporate site tours, international reverse investment programs and successfully recruited new businesses that added jobs and capital investment to a seven-county region.

Bihary-Waltz  Carlow Laureate

Sandra L. Bihary-Waltz, who is scheduled to receive her Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) degree this year from Wilmington University, was recognized as a prestigious Carlow Laureate by her undergraduate alma mater Carlow University, Pittsburgh, PA.

Bihary-Waltz is a senior executive leader in global pharmaceutical regulatory affairs for Pharmaceutical Research Associates (PRA), headquartered in Raleigh-Durham, NC, and she also is a strategic senior consultant for Sam Waltz & Associates Strategic Capital & Business Counsel in Greenville, DE. Bihary-Waltz earned her BS degree in Nursing in 1980 at Carlow, and subsequently earned an MS degree in Nursing in 1988 from Widener University.
