Accompanied by Danish Minister for Development Ulla Toernaes, the Princess visited the Kibera Slum in the Kenyan capital.

The 46-year-old royal ditched her usual heels in favour of New Balance running shoes, which she paired with a crisp white shirt and flowing khaki maxi-skirt.

Princess Mary showcased her incredibly trim physique by cinching her waist with a slim brown belt, accessorising with small hoop earrings and a citrus stone drop necklace.

The wife of Prince Frederik was coiffed to typical perfection with her shiny brunette locks styled in a sleek blow dry.

A mother to Princes Christian and Vincent and Princesses Isabella and Josephine herself, Mary looked at ease and cut a maternal figure with Kibera children, playfully shaking hands and even lifting some onto her hip.

The Princess visited the northern part of the country to launch the 'Deliver for Good' campaign aimed at promoting gender equality and sexual education.

Her jovial jiving came after a visit to the Kalama Conservancy nature reserve on Tuesday, where she donned traditional African robes and a colourful headdress.

Wearing her hair in a relaxed high bun with natural makeup, the mother-of-four looked to be in high spirits as she was given a warm welcome by a group of women at the reserve.

During her whirlwind 48 visit, Princess Mary also met with the chair of a sexual health mentoring programme which teaches mothers and children about their reproductive rights.

She has made numerous visits to Africa in the past, including an official trip to Burkina Faso in 2016.

Mary has had a busy month so far, joining husband Frederik, 50, in presenting the Crown Prince Couple's Prizes 2018 on Friday.

The couple put on a loved-up display at the event, following suggestions of marriage troubles.

Rumours began swirling of relationship woes after an unnamed insider told Australia's New Idea magazine: 'There are a lot of rumours of tension between Mary and Fred.'

'There are whispers running wild of a divorce or possible split and it's become very stressful for the whole palace [who are] trying to work out what's going on.

'The truth is that like any married couple, Fred and Mary are having a tough time of it at the moment.'
