By Nitin Sonawane| World Peace and Friendship Movement started from India for efforts to spread the message of Peace and Non Violence, which is the way given by Mahatma Gandhiji , In this Mission a young engineer Nitin Sonawane from Pune, India, travelling around the world on a Bicycle and by Foot to Celebrate 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhiji, spreading his message of Non-violence and Peace.

Nitin is an engineer turned Peace activist, inspired by seeking truth of life and work for peaceful world mean peace for all living and nonliving being on planet.

The World Peace Journey was started on Bicycle, on the 18th of November 2016 from Gandhi Ashram in Wardha, India, then followed it up with South East Asia, North and South America and finally concluding it with a peace walk in South Africa marking the ‘150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and 100th Birth Anniversary of Nelson Mandela’. This peace journey ends on 2nd Oct 2020 in Lahor Pakistan while covering Whole Africa, Europe and Middle East by foot.

Recently done 1200km Peace Walk in South Africa , from Johannesburg (Place where Mahatma Gandhi was did his Life Experiment) to Mvezo, (Birth place of Nelson Mandela), This Peace Walk was joined by 6 people from across India and 1 person from Japan, Rev. Kanshin Ikeda, the Buddhist monk of Niponzan Myohoji, who earlier did his Peace walk in Europe and America.

After this Epic peace walk in South Africa, I aim to continue this mission in Zimbabwe, by the crossing the South Africa-Zimbabwe border, on foot. I will begin in Bulawayo on 19th Dec 2018 and I shall end my walk in Zimbabwe in Harare on the 6th of Dec, 2019.
The Walk in Zimbabwe is with the intention to promote values and Ideas of Mahatma Gandhi to motivate today’s youth, thus keeping keep his legacy alive.

On the way I am planning to visit and spread this message in Schools, Colleges, Universities, Public Places, Community Centers , Religious Places and Social organisations.
