The 34th annual exhibition of new model homes — The Parade of Homes — sponsored by the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Southeastern Michigan and the Lake Michigan Credit Union will be going on through the month of June.

The event shows off the best model homes in southeast Michigan as determined by a panel of architects and industry experts who judge homes based on a combination of factors, including innovation, aesthetic appeal, and value for price.

Judges for this year’s program are Lonny S. Zimmerman of Siegal/Tuomaala Associates; Benedetto Tiseo of Tiseo Architects Inc.; Michael J. Gordon of Moiseev/Gordon Associates; and Marty Peltier, the chief business development officer of Lake Michigan Credit Union.

“We are proud to be featuring the blue-ribbon winners and all the Parade of Homes models in this program that offers potential homebuyers a unique opportunity to see the area’s finest newly built homes,” says Forrest M. Wall, the CEO of HBA. “The homes are available to view in person, based on the hours shown for each individual home, and on the program’s website at www.ParadeHBA.com.”

The blue-ribbon winning homes, based on price of model as shown, are:

  • $430,000 and under – The Addison in Belleville Twp. by Boji Home Builders.
  • Over $430,000 to $490,000 – Allyssa in the City of Brighton by Grand River Hilton LLC.
  • $500,000 to $600,000 – The Romana in Wixom by Lyon Homes LLC.
  • $600,000 to $750,000 – Modern Lexington in Clarkston by Heritage White Lake LLC.
  • $790,000 to $950,000 – Waltham Craftsman in West Bloomfield by Toll Brothers.
  • Over $1 Million – Ashford A in Washington Twp. by M/I Homes.

Included in the Parade of Homes are condominiums, single-family homes, affordable housing, and estate-sized homes. The program provides an opportunity for the public to see the latest trends in energy efficiency and green building, architecture, interior design, amenities, and materials.

The 33 model, under construction and preconstruction homes and condominiums range in “starting from” price from $250,000 to the low $800,000s. When the homes are considered by their “price of model as shown” they range in price from $315.900 to $1,608.995.”

The homes are built by 16 different builders, all members of HBA. The Parade of Homes includes six attached condominiums and one detached condominium. Homes are in 25 different communities. They are featured in a free magazine available at Lake Michigan Credit Union branches in southeastern Michigan and at each of the participating homes.
